What are your legal priorities for 2024? Asia Legal Priorities Report 2024 surveyed 246 legal professionals across Asia. This report delves into the transformative potential of legal technologies and generative AI (GenAI), alongside evolving ESG compliance. Notably, over one in four legal counsels (26%) expressed concerns about data protection and cybersecurity, while nearly one in three private practice professionals (30%) are monitoring and evaluating GenAI's implications. As Carsten Rosenkranz of Thomson Reuters highlights, “Setting the right priorities today will shape whether your path is a challenging climb or a smooth ride to success.” Discover how to navigate these dynamic trends and stay ahead in the legal landscape. We also interviewed senior legal professionals for added qualitative insights. Thank you, Basil Hwang, Edward Tsim, Hanim Hamzah, and Charmaine L. for taking the time to share with us. This weekend, I had the privilege of volunteering at the Humanitarian Conference by Singapore Red Cross. As a mom of a 16-month boy and a strong impulse to help, I’ve had to become more organized and committed to achieve it all. But the experience was incredibly rewarding. We were honored to welcome Mr. Chan Chun Sing, Singapore's Minister of Education, who joined us for the opening panel. Against the backdrop of global challenges like the Ukraine war, Gaza conflicts, climate change, and low birth rates, Mr. Chan reminded us that every generation faces its unique trials. Our predecessors endured wars and crises, yet they persevered. The key is to keep moving forward and support one another, creating mini impactful communities. Volunteering isn’t just about helping others; it’s about building our own knowledge, capacity, and resilience to readily apply during challenged times. Effective altruism isn’t about impulsive actions; it’s about making the most difference. Sometimes, in our eagerness to help, we might impose our solutions. True help involves taking the time to understand first.Organisations can build capacity on three levels: solving immediate problems, preempting future issues, and unleashing everyone’s potential to both solve and prevent challenges. The event also showcased essential skills such as Medical First Aid, Psychological First Aid, support for foreign workers, and care for the elderly and disabled. Contact Singapore Red Cross Academy for more details.Today, I’ve embraced the importance of delivering intention and purpose in every product and campaign we launch. This weekend reinforced that principle in a profound way.#HumanitarianConference #RedCrossSG #EffectiveAltruism #CommunitySupport #CapacityBuilding

After much anticipation, I am delighted to share the launch of the Asia Legal Priorities Report 2024 (#ALP2024), showcasing the latest priorities and perceptions of legal tech, GenAI, and ESG compliance on the ground level. We surveyed 246 legal professionals across Asia to uncover these trends. When conceptualizing this survey framework, I immediately thought of what makes winning legal teams stand apart. As with any function, setting the right priorities matters. Dealing with conflicting priorities, the choices we make shape the path forward.Notably, 26% of legal counsels are concerned about data protection and cybersecurity, while 30% of private practice professionals are monitoring GenAI's implications, and 26% are already using it for internal knowledge management. As Carsten Rosenkranz from Thomson Reuters wisely says, “Setting the right priorities today will shape whether your path is a challenging climb or a smooth ride to success.” Download the full report here:https://lnkd.in/gk4sYzdM.And happy prioritising!
