Regular pathogen surveillance is key all year round as a method to help control outbreaks, with epidemiologically significant variants constantly emerging. qPCR is universally used to detect and quantify pathogens, but conventional methods are time consuming and labor-intensive when several pathogens must be detected in a short period, such as when rapid detection of a virus with multiple mutations is required. Take a look through these examples of how the simultaneous detection and quantification of a large number of pathogens using IFCs instead of microtiter plates can reduce cost, time, labor and reagents: https://lnkd.in/gKjBzxYy #wastewater #respiratoryviruses #foodborneillness #antimicrobialresistance

In a study of mouse embryo normal brain and glioblastoma tissues, a 44-marker neuro-oncology panel composed of the Maxpar OnDemand™ Mouse Immuno-Oncology IMC™ Panel Kit and the Maxpar Neuro Phenotyping IMC Panel Kit revealed the spatial distribution of over 40 distinct molecular markers.A Preview Mode scan using Hyperion XTi™ rapidly identified areas with high tumor and immune cell activity, which was used to identify relevant regions of interest for detailed Cell Mode investigation. Multiplex Cell Mode images using tumor- (top) and immune- (bottom) specific markers demonstrate the heterogeneity of the tumor microenvironment.Get more details on this and other applications for high-plex tissue imaging: https://lnkd.in/gwSDzSaD#lookbook #spatialbiology #neurooncology #tumorcell #immunecell #glioblastoma

Antimicrobial resistance is key for newly evolving environmental microbes and human pathogens. We’d like to highlight this new work from the University of Yamanashi that simultaneously quantified antibiotic resistance genes in wastewater using high-throughput qPCR to understand the relationship between #pathogens and #antibioticresistance.Read the #publication to learn how wastewater-based #epidemiology focusing on quantifying pathogens and biological markers present in wastewater is vital to informing #publichealth efforts. Microfluidics-based high-throughput qPCR successfully analyzed pathogens and ARGs in a single run, concurrently assessing 14 distinct assays.Shrestha et al. 2024: https://lnkd.in/gubV6fhZ
