My overall experience was great. Louisville male is a high school with a lot of history and pride in the way it operates. Everything was student centered there and opportunities were always presented for all. It’s very diverse and is medium sized.z There are two buildings with two gyms, auditorium and sport facilities. The best parts of my experience was going to clubs such as Honor Society and Black Student Union. The worst was after school activities such as football games as they can be unorganized, chaotic and stressful. I would like the quality of teaching to change here. We’ve had teachers who seem to not care and shortages of administrators. Overall, Louisville Male is a great school that prepares its students for college and the pros far outweigh the cons.

Overall, my high school experience has been a positive one. My first year was during covid, which although challenging, I flourished into the person I am today. My school is very well known for our football team in Louisville, KY. For years I have worked my way thru traditional programs so I could be a part of Male High school, Home of the Bulldogs. Most schools today face many safety challenges, but our school did get metal detectors which has helped our anxieties. We also got a new principal this year who is a former Male basketball coach and has changed the school policies in a positive way. There are many diverse groups attending our school. One of the main things I would like to see change is have the old traditional concept back. Our school and school system have struggled with bus issues and getting students to school on time. I think majority of the issue is students are being bussed from the downtown areas and we do not have enough bus drivers to accommodate the amount.

In my time at Louisville Male High School, I was very involved with band, which was the best part of my high school experience. There was a big sense of community and achievement within band. Outside of that, there weren't many options for activities or events. While the focus on academic preparation for college was strong, there wasn't much preparation for life skills or culture. I'd like to see more options for extracurricular activities and focus on preparing students for life outside of academics.
